13U Head Coach
Coach Joe Koenig brings more than 20 years of basketball experience as a player, coach, mentor, and program leader at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. After retiring from playing in 2016, Coach Koenig transitioned his focus to coaching and player development, with coaching experience at St. Agnes, Tartan, Mounds Park Academy, and currently as the Travel Director for Roseville Girls Basketball. A former collegiate and professional player, Coach Koenig brings firsthand experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level. He is also a Special Education Teacher with Minneapolis Public Schools and holds a master's degree in Special Education from the University of St. Thomas. His coaching philosophy goes beyond basketball, focusing on developing confident, disciplined, accountable, and resilient athletes while helping students grow academically, socially, and personally. Coach Koenig believes basketball is a powerful tool for teaching life skills and preparing young people to pursue excellence both on and off the court.

He has been part of great development teams in and out of sports, from Minneapolis to Los Angeles, where his head coaching days started at the High School of Recording Arts. Coach Candice Butler has over 25 years of basketball experience as both a player and coach. After competing at a high level and coaching girls basketball in both high school and AAU programs, she is passionate about helping young athletes reach their full potential. Coach Candice believes in developing confident, disciplined, and team-first players by emphasizing strong fundamentals, accountability, mental toughness, and a positive mindset. Her goal is to prepare athletes not only to succeed on the court but also to become confident leaders in life.
