Minneapolis North state champion. 1998 Minnesota Miss Basketball. Wisconsin Badger and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Six-year WNBA guard and 2003 WNBA champion. The first Black woman to head coach a men's college basketball team. Dallas Mavericks scout.

Minneapolis roots

  • Born April 11, 1980 in Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • Minneapolis North High School — led the Lady Polars to the 1998 Minnesota state championship
  • 1998 Minnesota Miss Basketball — the state's top high school honor
  • 1998 Nike/WBCA All-American Top 20 Team selection
  • Ranked the #1 small forward and #15 overall prospect nationally by the Blue Star Index

Wisconsin & the WNBA

  • University of Wisconsin (1998–2002) — two-time First-Team All-Big Ten and the 2000–01 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year
  • Named a Wisconsin Athlete All-American; played all 124 games of her Badger career
  • Finished as Wisconsin's all-time leader in steals and assists with 1,662 career points (13.4 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 4.5 APG)
  • Inducted into the University of Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017
  • Selected 15th overall by the Miami Sol in the 2002 WNBA Draft — one of the first Badgers ever drafted into the WNBA
  • Six WNBA seasons (2002–2007) and 145 career games across Miami, Minnesota, Detroit, Phoenix, New York, Los Angeles and Houston
  • Won the 2003 WNBA Championship with the Detroit Shock
